I hope everyone is wonderful and keeping warm during these cold months.
Firstly I want to send my well wishes to Nic Pitman. Nic has been my drummer and a great friend for 12 years. I really look forward to you getting well and coming back and playing with us again real soon. Your mateship on the road and at gigs has been missed.
Young Charlie Phyphers from the Cartwheels ilk has been helping out. So you’ll be seeing Charlie at Mildura festival and some of the other gigs we’ll be doing in the coming months.
Charlie also helped us out up at the “Music in the Mulga Festival” in south east QLD. That festival was a whole heap of fun. Thanks to Carman and the crew up there for all their wonderful work. It was a joy to work with Tania Kernaghan, and Johnny Taylor. We hadn't played with them before. We also did some backing for Bec Hance, Anita Ree and Andy Abra.
The Mulga is a an awesome festival. My favourite part was the sitting around the campfire playing good ol tunes. It was so much fun jamming with a big bunch of great singers who’d come from everywhere. I got to Jam with Paulie from Simply Bushed, Adam Kilpatrick and even Hughie Curtis dropped by. Look it up. http://musicinthemulga.com.au/mulga/
There are plenty of fun gigs coming up. Including going back to the Bairnsdale Country music club, where my Cousin Jamie Curtis and I started so many many years ago.
We also are playing our once a year gig at the Australian Country Music Guild, which is held at the Pascoevale RSL in Victoria.
As mentioned last outting we have been asked back again to perform at the Mildura Country Music festival. This is out 11th year as a band. It is also the 30th Anniversary of the Mildura Country Music Festival, so I would say its going to be huge and loads of fun. Im really looking forward to doing the Buck Owens and Don Williams tributes. Those two fellas would be my biggest influences, along with many others like Merle Haggard, Ricky Skaggs and George Jones.
Once again, thankyou, everyone who supports me at my gigs. Its always great to catch up with the old friends and meet new ones. As I may have said before, I'm not on Facebook. I’m a little bit old school and enjoy emails and people just calling me on the telephone. Lol I am on Instagram now, however I’m not the best at keeping up with that either hehe.
Anyhow all the best,
I look forward to hearing from you.
Please don’t hesitate to call me
